At the recent ASHA convention in Denver, Maggie Wieting (an inaugural Communication Works clinician) described the work of Concussion Management Teams (CMT) at Lincoln Public Schools. Maggie is a speech-language pathologist on a CMT whose goal is to keep concussed students safe, minimize the risk of re-injury, and manage symptoms so students can learn and achieve. The CMTs implement the Return to Learn protocol, which was developed by the Nebraska Department of Education Brain Injury Task Force, to identify and treat students with concussions.

We are proud to have a leading edge, enthusiastic, excellent clinician like Maggie on the Communication Works team. Congratulations Maggie!
